MANILA, Philippines — The government’s economic czar on Thursday morning said he would tender his resignation within the day in response to President Marcos’ call for all Cabinet members to submit courtesy resignations.

“I serve at the pleasure of the President. Will be submitting mine within the day,” Secretary Frederick Go, head of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs told the Inquirer.

Go has been a key figure in the administration’s efforts to attract foreign investments and streamline economic reforms.

His office, which was created in 2023, has played a central role in coordinating policies aimed at enhancing the country’s investment climate and improving the ease of doing business.
